King James Worthy is no different producing music since 2004 earning credits with various artists including Grammy Nominated Musicians & Award Winners Like: Arrested Development, Truth Hurts, Fetty Wap, Bobby Brown, Petey Pablo, Yung Berg, Bonecrusher, Jaden Smith, Lloyd, T-Pain, Future, J'honni Blaze, Supa Peach and so many others. With the New Year underway, Mr. Worthy shows no signs of slowing down with his new soul/hip-hop/jazz/R&B-styled project on the way entitled, “Blu Leisure."
“It's exciting to hear your records playing on the radio," says King James Worthy but explains that downloads and streaming is his primary focus for this upcoming project with Atlantic Records.
The finished mood of the project will determine if the project will be an E.P. (extended play) or album. The release of the single “Blu Sunset” from the project expected in March 2018 with the completed project releasing later in the year. Mr. Worthy defines the project's mood by stating, "I'm making the music that I want to make versus with the masses what me to make versus what people want me to make, and it just feels good." The upcoming project will equip listeners with a real awareness of the type of artist James Worthy represents. The mood for the project is peace paired with gentle sounds giving listeners the freedom to vibe with the lyrics, hinting the name Blu Leisure.
When asked about features Mr. Worthy hinted that he would love to collaborate with Grammy-nominated artist 6LACK. The project dabbles with all sorts of fascinating sonic elements and lyrical themes, allowing each song to have a distinct life of its own, but together allowing Mr. Worthy to solidify his artistry boldly. The collectiveness of different baselines, non-repetitive 808's drum patterns, along with other smooth instruments can be expected when listening to Blu Leisure. To get a better impression of the sound, Mr. Worthy associates the texture of the project to past compositions by Frank Ocean and Bruno Mars. He identifies the difference as being solely driven by melody.
