How James Prince Made Rap-A-Lot History
In the year 2018 it seems that you can't go anywhere without seeing someone wants to be a famous rapper. You can login to social media and find thousands of these aspiring rappers building their instagram or twitter followers by sharing their rhyming videos. When James Prince founded Rap-A-Lot in 1986 neither one of these social media applications existed. He even tells us in his private interview with Texas Southern University students that this new generation has an advantage he did not have. Yet he has mastered the art of building a strong music empire through by reading, staying focused on his goals, and networking.
To further explain he spoke about his son Jas Prince Jr. and how he founded the company that made Drake an icon. James Prince stated, "Go to Lil Wayne and tell Lil'Wayne that (you know) your dad gonna give you a mil to start your company and ask him to be your partner." Soon after Jas Prince Jr. convinced Lil Wayne, James Prince, and the world that Drake was the real star of the decade. James Prince also talks about his history with Tupac and Biggie.
